About

Two people, one town, zero recycled content

Most English guides to Alaçatı are written from a desk in another country, stitched together from other people's blog posts. We wanted the opposite: a guide written by people who buy their tomatoes at the Saturday market and know which restaurants changed hands over the winter.

Who we are

One of us was born and raised in Alaçatı, with family and friendships that go back generations here: hotel owners, restaurant kitchens, boat captains, surf instructors. The other handles the writing, the site, and the planning side, and has made Alaçatı home. Together we cover both worlds: real local access and answers in fluent English.

Alaçatı is a small town and we review our neighbors, so we keep a low profile by name. What we put on the record instead: every guide carries the date we last checked it in person, and everything we recommend is somewhere we have actually eaten, stayed, sailed or surfed.

How we work

  • Every guide shows the date we last verified it, in person, in town.
  • Every photo on this site is ours. No stock photos, ever.
  • Prices are listed in TRY and EUR and updated every season.
  • If something is overrated, we say so. If we have a relationship with a business, we disclose it.
  • Some links earn us a commission. They never decide what we recommend.
